'The Institute for Heraldic and Genealogical Studies, Canterbury: its history, library and educational services.'
The IHGS has remained in the same building for over 60 years, all the while building up one of the best research libraries in England and retaining its founder's vision of excellence in the teaching and practice of its two core disciplines of heraldry and genealogy. Its sister company, Achievements of Canterbury, has undertaken professional research for a similar period of time.
Dr David Wright, the Principal, will give an outline of its history and the venerable building that it occupies, and then highlight some of its major holdings, all of which are available to interested researchers, many not yet being online. |
